The newest installation at Wave Farm, Here GOES Radiotelescope is an artist-run DIY ground station receiving GOES-16's faint, data-dense transmission, and is one of only about 10 independent civilian stations to do so. Visitors to the sculptural station sit within it and look through the “telescope” and see images of the Earth as they are being received from the satellite—from the seat, we effectively see ourselves through the satellite’s eyes. A generative audio stream interprets the interaction of the sun's energies with Earth's magnetosphere, a sonic imagining of the satellite's environment using space weather data collected from GOES-16 by Here GOES Radiotelescope.
